Stop Middle-Aged Spread
Did you know there is a targeted surgery for reducing lax skin and fat on the thighs? A thigh lift focuses on this common problem area. Women are especially likely to accumulate fat in the thighs with aging, weight changes, or pregnancies. Even if you have lost weight and are happy with the circumference of your thighs, you may find you have loose skin that doesn’t tighten up with exercise. A thigh lift can reshape and slim down your thighs to give you a more lithe, lean appearance and help your clothes fit better.
Trimmer, Slimmer Thighs
Thigh lift surgery is a popular body contouring procedure designed to eliminate excess skin and fat in the inner and/or outer thighs for a tightened, more toned appearance. Whether caused by significant weight loss, genetics, or simply the process of aging, these aesthetic concerns are often immune to even the most stringent of diets and exercise routines.
To meet your individual needs by customizing a treatment for a thigh lift New Jersey plastic surgery staff at The Godek Center can help you achieve a slimmer, more athletic contour in the legs with exceptionally natural-looking results.

Preparing For Your Procedure
All thigh lifts performed by our plastic surgeon, Dr. Godek, are personalized based on the unique needs and goals of the patient. During the procedure, loose, excess skin throughout the thigh region is carefully removed, and the remaining skin is pulled taut and reattached for a smoother appearance. When localized buildups of fatty tissue are also present, our doctor will use liposuction to strategically contour the thighs until an optimal shape is achieved prior to closing the incision sites.
Conducted under general anesthesia, thigh lift surgery can usually be completed in about two hours, though this may vary if treatment is being combined with other procedures as part of a body lift. When performed on its own, most patients are able to return home later the same day with the help of a friend or family member.
Clothes Fit Better
Most patients are able to resume office jobs, school, running errands, and other non-strenuous activities after approximately one week, but all strenuous actions—such as heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, physical sports, etc.—will generally need to be avoided for at least four weeks.
Immediately following thigh lift surgery, a compression garment is typically placed to aid in the healing process and help ensure an ideal outcome. There will likely be some degree of swelling and bruising present initially, though these symptoms are temporary and should resolve with time. While a significant amount of pain is rare, any discomfort or soreness that may be experienced can often be alleviated with medication.
Staying at a stable weight will help keep your thighs looking lean and taut. Many patients find that a thigh lift makes exercising more comfortable and provides motivation to stay active. Practicing good aftercare and a healthy lifestyle will help your results remain beautiful for years.
Expect some soreness and swelling during recovery. Pain is generally mild to moderate and mostly subsides within a few days, though you will need to take it easy for longer.
Your surgeon will discuss the cost of your individualized procedure with you at your consultation. Financing options are available.
Cosmetic surgeries like a thigh lift are not covered by health insurance.
